We are planning an MFA 2026 meeting: Thursday Jan 15 at 6:30 PM Central Time

We will be discussing Zoom family history seminar topics, logistics, outreach and presenters.

- Starting your Family History Journey
- The 1909 Register of the Middlebrook Family.
- Family crest or coat of arms and Middlebrough/Middlebrooks England Ancestors.
- Our Immigrant Ancestor?
- Migration of our Southern Middlebrook/s Ancestors
- The Middlebrooks of Virginia: John b. 1754 and Nathaniel b. 1764
- Thomas and Racheal Middlebrook of Virginia (Our oldest known colonial southern ancestor.)
- Isaac Middlebrooks and Ann Sims of Orange and Caswell, Co. NC.
- The Caswell County brothers: Isaac b. 1753; John b. 1755, Sims b. 1762,
Thomas b. 1763. (Could be an overview or discussed separately.) - What does DNA tell us about our ancestor connections?

You will need to download a Zoom App to run on your computer or smart phone and create your own free Zoom account.
Meeting Results:
Hold Zoom Seminars on a Saturday afternoon for an hour and focus on a single topic. This would give us an idea of interest and if we should plan other seminars. Let us know, if you have other seminar topics?
The proposed DNA expansion project was placed on hold.
The board approved the new Honorary membership class/category and amendment of the MFA 2017 ByLaws, next time they are revised. Honorary member recommendations should be sent to Lanell Middlebrooks.
Proposed change (italics) to Section 2 of By-Laws
Members-The Corporation shall have two classes of membership, member and honorary member. Each member shall have one vote. Memberships are not transferable.
The Corporation will maintain a list of non-members that indicate an interest in being informed of activities, programs and meetings.
Proposed change(italics) to Section 3 of By-Laws
The amount of dues will be determined by the Board of Directors, and the fiscal year of the Corporation shall be August 1, through July 31, as per the IRS SS-4 (Application for Employer Identification Number). Honorary members would have the option of paying dues.
